Toyota SCV - Suction Control Valve Kit for Toyota D4D engines
The part numbers
096710-0052 red valve
096710-0062 green Valve
USEFUL INFORMATION - DO PLEASE READ:
Most Toyota models fitted with the 2.0 D-4D engine (1CDFTV) suffer with the same common problem relating to faulty Suction Control Valves.
The symptoms can be:
-
Sudden loss of power (especially at the top end of the rev range)
-
Engine management light on with P0627 code stored, or 'blink code 78'.
Toyota's of the fault codes are as follows...
or 78 (fuel circuit malfunction)
The latter code can be checked by bridging two contacts in the diagnostic port under the bonnet, and counting the engine management flashes. (e.g. 7 flashes in quick succession followed by a short pause, then 8 flashes in quick succession followed by a long pause = 78)
If either of these codes exist then replacing the SCVs is likely to rectify the fault. However, Toyota D-4D engines can AND DO suffer with additional problems. Fuel pumps...Injectors...EGR systems...Vacuum Switching Valves...Variable Vanes on the Turbocharger...etc...
So, whilst SCV replacement will have a high success rate it is not a fix-all part.
