What are common control arm or wishbone symptoms?
- Knocking or clunking over bumps.
- Movement from worn rubber bushes.
- Play in an integrated ball joint.
- Changes in steering feel or stability.

Can a worn wishbone bush cause knocking?
Yes. A damaged or separated bush can allow more movement than intended and may produce a knock under braking, acceleration or over rough surfaces. Similar noises can also come from drop links, top mounts, ball joints and other suspension parts, so diagnosis matters.
Can control arms affect wheel alignment?
Suspension arms locate the wheel relative to the chassis. Excessive play or a bent component can affect geometry. After relevant suspension repairs, alignment may need to be checked according to the vehicle manufacturer’s procedure.
Do I need the complete arm or just a bush?
That depends on the design and condition. Some bushes and ball joints are available separately, while other applications are commonly serviced as a complete arm. A complete arm can also be useful where several integrated components are worn.
How do I know whether I need front left or front right?
Fitting position is critical. Product data may refer to front axle left, front axle right, upper, lower, straight or curved arms. Compare the old part shape and mounting points as well as the catalogue application.
Should both sides be replaced together?
There is no universal rule for every control arm, but the opposite side should be inspected because components on the same axle experience similar age and mileage. Replace parts according to their condition and the repair guidance for the vehicle.
